    1. Day1 Arrival - Luang Prabang

      Activities:Arrive at Luang Prabang, check in the hotel

      Land in Luang Prabang, you will be greeted and moved forward to your hotel. Being recognized as the best preserved city in South East Asia by UNESCO, the land is truly potential for you to spend time travelling around. The rest of the day is up to your own free time. Stay overnight in Luang Prabang

    2. Day2 Luang Prabang – City Tour - Pak Ou Caves

      Activities:Visit Wat Visoun, go to Arts and Ethnology Centre, tour Wat Xieng Thong, drop by Ban Xang Hai

      Breakfast served, we start the tour with a visit to Wat Visoun, the oldest temple in Luang Prabang built in 1513. Then we turn to the excellent Arts and Ethnology Centre, which shows us the traditional arts and the lifestyles of different ethnical groups in Laos. The next destination will be Wat Xiengthong – the most beautiful pagoda of Laos. The name Wat Xiengthong means “Temple of the Golden City” and its unique roofs make tourist overwhelmed. We then cruise along the Mekong River, which brings up to us a fascinating view of the peaceful countryside. Later, we will discover the amazing Pak Ou Caves in the village of Ban Muangkeo. Pak Ou, the Caves of a thousand Buddhas, is not only a unique destination to explore but also brings great historical values. Along the way, we will drop by Ban Xang Hai, which’s famous for homemade alcohol. We then come back to Luang Prabang by car through the handicraft village of Ban Nongxai, and take time to visit silversmith workshop. We return Luang Prabang by late afternoon. Meals on your own.     3. Day3 Luang Prabang – Hmong Experience and Kuang Si Waterfall

      Activities:Visit Ban Longlao, explore Kuang Si Waterfall

      It will take one hour and twenty minutes to leave out of the town of Luang Prabang. Along the way, you will capture gorgeous views and rustic sights of paddy and pineapple fields. Then you will head to Ban Longlao – a local H’mong village in which the culture, customs and language are all different to mainstream Laos and are well-preserved. From the H’mong village, it takes between two and two and half hours to travel through primary forest and jungle before arriving at the amazing Kuang Si Waterfall. You will enjoy your own lunch at the time of relaxing, swimming and climbing to the top of the waterfall. At the end of the day, you will come back Luang Prabang in time to admire the sunset over the Mekong. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

    4. Day4 Luang Prabang – Xieng Khuang

      Activities:Go to Xieng Khuang, visit Ban Kiu Kam Pone, reach Phou Khoun, visit an Old Russian tank

      In the morning at about 8 am, we will leave for Xieng Khuang, which has been famed widely for its amazing ”Plain Jars”. Then going through a twisty mountain route, we will stop at Houi Hei, where tourists will have a great view of the surrounding mountains. We then come to Ban Kiu Kam Pone, a Khmu village to travel before reaching Phou Khoun and having lunch. We go toward Xien Khuang province, which has the highest mountain range of Laos such as Phu bia (2.820 m), Phu xao (2.690 m). After that, we stop at Ban Son Boom, a Hmong village. Our last destination of the day is a hidden Buddha cave which marks a historical period of the Vietnam War. Then we make a final stop to visit an Old Russian tank. We return the hotel by early evening. Meals on your own. Overnight in Xieng Khuang

    5. Day5 Xieng Khouang – Vientiane

      Activities:Visit the Plain Jars, fly to Vienntiane

      We start the fifth day with a visit to the Mines Action Group or MAG office to learn about the work they do in clearing land mines and unexploded ordnance in the area. Next we travel to Jar Site 1, the largest site and Jar Site 3, which is on the top of a hill offering panoramic picture of the surrounding countryside. We come back to Phonsavon town and take off a flight to Vienntiane. Meals on your own. Overnight in Vientiane.

    6. Day6 Vientiane – Half day city tour

      Activities:Visit Wat Sisaket pagoda, explore That Luong Stupa, stop at COPE Exhibition Centre

      Today we start visiting the oldest pagoda Wat Sisaket at first, which has thousands of rare and precious Buddha statues. Then we explore the temple Wat Prakeo that’s unique by its architecture and the famous Emerald Buddha image. Our tour continues with a visit to the splendid That Luong Stupa – the biggest and the most beautiful temple in Laos. It has become the symbol of culture and the pride of Laotians. On coming to Vientiane, the very first place that tourist cannot ignore is Patuxay Monument considered as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. You can see the whole picture of the city from Patuxay and take your own beautiful photos. Our final stop will be the brilliant COPE Exhibition Centre where displays documentaries about Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) problem in Laos caused by the heavy bombing campaign during the Vietnam War. You will understand more about how UXO has become a part of local people’s life. Meals on your own. Overnight in Vientiane.

    7. Day7 Vientiane – Pakse – Khong Island

      Activities:Fly to Pakse, cruise to Champassak, visit Don Khong

      We drive you forward to the airport for a morning flight to Pakse. Next you will get on a private traditional boat for 2-hour cruise to Champassak. After arriving at the Champa Kingdom, we will travel by car to Wat Phou which is the second World Heritage in Laos. Wat Phou is the most outstanding destination to tourists when coming to Champasak. It is a mixture construction of Khmer style worshiping Hindu during the 9th century to the 13th century. In the afternoon, you will visit Don Khong – an area of 4000 islands which is the largest point of the Mekong River during the rainy season. Don Khong will bring you great experiences as walking or cycling through pleasant little villages. We end the day with a visit to the Khmer temple of Oup Mong at Ban Houei Tomo, covered by the forest. Come back to Khong Island via ferry in the early evening. Meals on your own. Overnight on Khong Island.

    8. Day8 Khong Island – Surrounding

      Activities:Travel to Don Khone, explore Khone Phapheng

      Breakfast served and we will soon travel to Don Khone with a long tail boat tour to capture beautiful sights of the surrounding countryside. Then we disembark and travel by bicycle to discover the island, emter the remains of the French period and the stunning Liphi Waterfall. We turn back to the mainland at the fishing village of Ban Nakasang and go further south to visit Khone Phapheng. Khone Phapheng is the largest waterfall in South East Asia connecting the two banks of the Mekong River with Champasak and Strung Treng province of Cambodian. As presenting here, you will understand clearly why Khone Phapheng is called “Niagara of Asia”. Then we drive back to Khong Island. Meals on your own. Overnight in Khong Island.

    9. Day9 Khong Island – Bolaven Plateau - Pakse

      Activities:Visit the Bolaven Plateau, stop at Tad Fan Waterfall, tour Ban Houi Hun

      In the early morning we will drive north to the Bolaven Plateau – the most impressive destination to tourists. The Bolaven Plateau has cool climate, fertile soil which is the suitable land for tea, coffee, rubber plantations of Laos. Next we make a stop at Houey Ten, a Katua village that’s well known for knife making. We then arrive at a tea plantation before visiting Tad Fan Waterfall, an amazing twin chute waterfall.
      In the afternoon, we pay a visit to a coffee plantation, then move to Tha Teng Market, a colorful ethnic minority food market. Next we head to another interesting minority village, Ban Bong Neua, an Alak village, which boasts a sacrificial alter. We arrive at the stunning Tadlo Waterfall by late afternoon and head back to Pakse, stopping at Ban Houi Hun, an Alak weaving village, where they keep coffins under their houses, and at another picturesque waterfall, Paxuam. We return to Pakse by early evening. Meals on your own. Overnight in Pakse.

    10. Day10 Pakse – Departure

      Activities:Discover around Pakse, prepare for the flight back

      You will have breakfast before spend some more free time discovering around the town of Pakse, and then ready to take off a flight to Siem Reap-Cambodia or exiting Laos overland from the Chongmek International checkpoint to Ubon Ratchathani Thailand. Meals on your own. End of services.

    Once you selected an accommodation, click ‘Book It’ button to continue.

    Tips: To get more special discounts, please take a look at ‘Trip saving for booking together’ section where you can check rates and get a discount for booking 02 services at the same time. The discount amount ranges from US$3 to US$60 per room per night (hotel) or per pax (tour).

    Step 2: Book Extra Services

    This step meets your needs in booking optional services like transfer, visa, kayaking or other interesting activities related to your current booking.

    Step 3: Submit Booking

    Here you can review, add or remove your booking items, complete and submit your booking form.

    After your booking is submitted, the system navigates to a ‘Thank you page and send you an automatic email listing all the services you requested.

    Our travel consultant will get in contact with you within 01 working day to inform about the service availability & payment.

    Step 4: Confirm Availability & Deposit

    1. Check availability :

    After receiving your booking request, our consultant will check the availability of the services. If the services are available, our consultant will send you a payment link for the deposit by email, otherwise we will give you some alternative suggestions.

    Notice: our email may go to your spam mailbox, please check your spam mailbox if you don’t receive our response in one working day.

    2. Deposit:

    After receiving the payment link in the email sent from our consultant, please make the deposit as soon as possible to secure your booking. When we receive your deposit payment, our consultant will reserve the services for your booking as following:

    If all of the services are reserved successfully, we will send you a Confirmation Email including the deposit invoice and other useful information

    If the services are fully booked and are not available, we will inform you and suggest other options. In case you no longer want to book these services, we will refund all of the deposit amount.

    Notice: Your booking will NOT be confirmed until we send you the Confirmation email. The remaining balance can be paid later – before departure date. For some urgent bookings or special types of promotion, 100% of the total cost will be required.

    Step 5: Final Payment

    The full payment must be made before your departure date. The exact deadline will be confirmed by our travel consultant depending on each service you booked.

    The remaining balance can be paid by Cash (VND, USD, AUD, EUR) or by credit card. For the customers who’re going to stay in Hanoi, we are able to setup a direct meeting to collect the final payment.

    Notice: Payment by cash on arrival is only applied for trips starting from Hanoi and the arrival date is before the payment deadline (confirmed by our travel consultant). All currencies are exchanged by local rate.

    At the end of booking process, on the “Make a booking” page, you can enter any special requests into the “Special Request” box before submitting your booking. Another easy way is sending us your special request directly by email.

    The deposit is required to guarantee your reservation (tours, hotels, transfer, etc.). After receiving your deposit, we’re going to reserve the services for you. So the deposit is required to secure your booking. Normally, 30% of total cost will be required for deposit at the booking time.     Normally Journey Expedition Travel includes two meals each day during tour: Breakfast and Lunch. You will have the freedom to make your own dinner choice.

    Breakfast

    It is normally served at the hotel where you stay. Depending on the hotel, the breakfast would be in western style, local style, or a combination.

    Lunch

    Lunches are usually set menu at handpicked local restaurant with comfortable dining environment where you can rest assure to taste the local flavor. All restaurants arranged by Indochina Odyssey Tours selected carefully and evaluated constantly based on customer feedback and our on-site inspection.

    Dinner

    Dinners will not be included in your meal plan unless you have that requirement. Enjoying the local food could be one of your best experiences in “tasty” Indochina area. This is why we provide you this flexibility of food choice. Your private guide will always give you good suggestions based on your preferences.
