    1. DAy1 Arrival - Luang Prabang

      Activities:Arrive in Luang Prabang, check in the hotel

      On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Luang Prabang has been knows as the capital of culture and Buddhism of Laos. It has been recognized as the World Heritage by UNESCO with its traditional culture values. The rest of the day will be the time for relaxing. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

    2. Day2 Luang Prabang – City Tour - Pak Ou Caves

      Activities:Visit WatVisoun, tour Arts and Ethnology Centre, go to Wat Xieng Thong pagoda, have sightseeing of Pak Ou Caves

      After enjoying breakfast, we will visit Wat Visoun, the oldest temple in Luang Prabang built in 1513. Then we will visit the excellent Arts and Ethnology Centre,which shows us the traditional arts and the lifestyles of the different ethnical groups in Laos. Next we will visit Wat Xieng Thong – the most beautiful pagoda of Laos.The name Wat Xieng Thong means ”Temple of the Golden City” and its unique roofs make tourist overwhelmed. We then board a cruise to pass through the Mekong River, which help us enjoy a panoramic view of the peaceful countryside. We will discover the amazing Pak Ou Caves in the village of Ban Muangkeo. Pak Ou – the Caves of a thousand Buddhas are not only unique destinations to explore but also brings great historical values. En route, we will visit Ban Xang Hai, which’s famous for homemade alcohol. We then come back Luang Prabang by car through Ban Nongxai, a handicraft village and also to visit silversmith workshop. We return Luang Prabang by late afternoon. Meals on your own. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

    3. Day3 Luang Prabang – Hmong Experience and Kuang Si Waterfall

      Activities:View the countryside, visit ethnic village, see Kuang Si Waterfall

      It will take one hour and twenty minutes to leave out of the town of LuangPrabang. On the way you will see beautiful views and rural landscapes with paddy and pineapple fields. Then you will visit Ban Longlao – a local H’mong village where the culture, customs and language are all different to mainstream Laos. From the H’mong village, it takes between two and two and half hours to pass through primary forest and jungle before arriving at the amazing Kuang Si Waterfall. You will enjoy your own lunch at the time of relaxing, swimming and climbing to the top of the waterfall.
      At the end of the day, you will come back Luang Prabang in time to catch the sun setting over the Mekong. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

    4. Day4 Luang Prabang – Xieng Khuang

      Activities:Drive to Xiengkhuang, stop at HouiHei, travel around ethnic village

      In the early morning at about 8 am, we will drive to Xiengkhuang, which has been known widely for the amazing “Plain of Jars”. Then going through a twisty mountain route, we will stop at HouiHei, where tourists will have a great view of the surrounding mountains. We then come to Ban Kiu Kam Pone, a Khmu village to explore before arriving in Phou Khoun for lunch. We go toward Xien Khuang province, which has the highest moutains of Laos such as Phu bia (2.820 m), Phu xao (2.690 m). After that, we stop at Ban Son Boom, a Hmong village. Our last destination of the day is a hidden Buddha cave which marks a historical period during the Vietnam War. Then we make a final stop to visit an old Russian tank. We return the hotel by early evening. Meals on your own. Overnight in Xieng Khuang.

    5. Day5 Xieng Khouang – Vientiane

      Activities:Visit the Mines Action Group, return Phonsavon town, fly to Vientiane

      We start the fifth day with a visit to the Mines Action Group or MAG office to learn about the work they do in clearing land mines and unexploded ordnance in the area. Next we travel to Jar Site 1, the largest site and Jar Site 3, which is on the top of a hill offering panoramic picture of the surrounding countryside. We come back to Phonsavon town and get in the plane for your flight to Vienntiane. Meals on your own. Overnight in Vientiane.

    6. Day6 Vientiane – Half day city tour

      Activities:Visit WatSisaket, explore That Luong Stupa, come to Patuxay Monument, tour the COPE exhibition Centre

      Your half day city tour begins with visiting the oldest pagoda Wat Sisaket which has thousands of rare and precious Buddha statues. Then we explore the temple Wat Prakeo that’s unique by its architecture and the famous Emerald Buddha image. Our tour continues with a visit to the splendid That Luong Stupa – the biggest and the most beautiful temple in Laos. It has become the symbol of culture and the pride of Laotians. On coming to Vientiane, the place that tourist can’t ignore is Patuxay Monument considered as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. You can see the whole picture of the city from Patuxay and take your own beautiful photos. Our final stop will be the excellent COPE exhibition Centre where displays documentaries about Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) problem in Laos caused by the heavy bombing campaign during the Vietnam War. You will understand more about how UXO has become part of the life of many people. Meals on your own. Overnight in Vientiane.

    7. Day7 Vientiane – Pakse – Khong Island

      Activities:Take flight to Pakse, travel to WatPhou, experience Khmer style

      You will be transferred to the airport early this morning for the flighttoPakse. Next you will get on a private traditional boat for 2-hour cruise to Champassak. After arriving at the Champa Kingdom, we will travel by car to WatPhou which is the second World Heritage in Laos. WatPhou is the most outstanding destination to travelers when coming to Champasak. It is a mixture construction of Khmer style worshiping Hindu during the 9th century to the 13th century. In the afternoon, you will visit Don Khong – an area of 4000 islands which is the largest point of the Mekong River during the rainy season. Don Khong will bring you great experiences of walking or cycling through pleasant little villages. We end the day with a visit to the Khmer temple of Oup Mong at Ban Houei Tomo, located in the forest. Come back Khong Island via ferry in the early evening. Meals on your own. Overnight on Khong Island.

    8. Day8 Khong Island – Surrounding

      Activities:Enjoy a boat tour, visit Liphi Waterfall, explore Khone Phapheng

      After having breakfast, we will travel to Don Khone with a long tail boat tour to have a sightseeing of the surrounding countryside. Then we disembark and go by bicycle to discover the island, visit the remains of the French period and the stunning Liphi Waterfall. We return to the mainland at the fishing village of Ban Nakasang and go further south to visit KhonePhapheng. KhonePhapheng is the largest waterfall in South East Asia connecting the two banks of the Mekong River with Champasak and Strung Treng province of Cambodian. Come here and you will understand why KhonePhapheng is called “Niagara of Asia”. Then we drive back to Khong Island. Meals on your own. Overnight in Khong Island.

    9. Day9 Khong Island – Bolaven Plateau - Pakse

      Activities:Drive to the Bolaven Plateau, visit a Katua village, view Tad Fan Waterfall

      In the early morning we will drive north to the Bolaven Plateau – the most impressive destination to travelers. The Bolaven Plateau has cool climate, fertile soil which is the suitable land for tea, coffee, rubber plantations of Laos. Next we make a stop to visit Houey Ten, a Katua village that’s well known for knife making. We then arrive at a tea plantation before visiting Tad Fan Waterfall, an amazing twin chute waterfall.
      In the afternoon, we have a visit to a coffee plantation, then move to Tha Teng Market, a colourful ethnic minority food market. Next we come to another interesting minority village, Ban Bong Neua, an Alak village, that boasts a sacrificial alter. We arrive at the stunning Tadlo Waterfall by late afternoon and head back to Pakse, stopping at Ban Houi Hun, an Alak weaving village, where they keep coffins under their houses, and at another picturesque waterfall, Paxuam.     10. Day10 Pakse – Departure

      Activities:Explore Pakse town, departure

      After breakfast, you will have free time to explore Pakse Town before catching a flight to Siem Reap-Cambodia or exiting Laos overland from the Chongmek International checkpoint to Ubon Ratchathani Thailand.     After receiving your booking request, our consultant will check the availability of the services. If the services are available, our consultant will send you a payment link for the deposit by email, otherwise we will give you some alternative suggestions.

    2. Deposit:

    After receiving the payment link in the email sent from our consultant, please make the deposit as soon as possible to secure your booking. When we receive your deposit payment, our consultant will reserve the services for your booking as following:

    If all of the services are reserved successfully, we will send you a Confirmation Email including the deposit invoice and other useful information

    If the services are fully booked and are not available, we will inform you and suggest other options. In case you no longer want to book these services, we will refund all of the deposit amount.

    Notice: Your booking will NOT be confirmed until we send you the Confirmation email. The remaining balance can be paid later – before departure date. For some urgent bookings or special types of promotion, 100% of the total cost will be required.

    The remaining balance can be paid by Cash (VND, USD, AUD, EUR) or by credit card. For the customers who’re going to stay in Hanoi, we are able to setup a direct meeting to collect the final payment.

    Notice: Payment by cash on arrival is only applied for trips starting from Hanoi and the arrival date is before the payment deadline (confirmed by our travel consultant). All currencies are exchanged by local rate.

    Normally Journey Expedition Travel includes two meals each day during tour: Breakfast and Lunch. You will have the freedom to make your own dinner choice.


    It is normally served at the hotel where you stay. Depending on the hotel, the breakfast would be in western style, local style, or a combination.


    Lunches are usually set menu at handpicked local restaurant with comfortable dining environment where you can rest assure to taste the local flavor.
